Tom is the leader of the Selby Avenue Brass Band which
performs his compositions and arrangements, appearing
often with vocalist Thomasina Petrus at regional events ;
Twin Cities Jazz Festival, Rondo Community Music
Series, Vintage Brass Band Festival ( Northfield), Selby
Avenue Jazz Festival ( 22 years running), Rock Bend Folk
Festival (St. Peter), and the Minnesota State Fair, to name
a few. They can also be heard at multiple local venues,
Crooner’s, Metronome Brewery, as well as private events,
funerals, church services, ribbon cuttings etc.

Tom also performs with the Minnesota State Band, which
this summer will feature the premier of Tom’s Composition
“STAND UP TUNES FOR SIT DOWN BAND”, a collection
of 5 of his Brass Band Compositions.
Tom is a proud retiree of Minneapolis Public Schools
where he taught instrumental music for 36 years.
Presently, Tom teaches part time at Walker/West Music
Academy in Saint Paul
