CONNIE EVINGSON is known for exploring a wide variety of musical styles. Her recorded catalog of acclaimed CD’s ranging from jazz and Broadway standards to the music of Peggy Lee, Dave Frishberg, the Beatles, bossa nova, gypsy jazz and more reflects an adventurous spirit that knows no boundaries. Connie appears regularly at Crooners, the Dakota, the Woman’s Club and various other Twin Cities venues. She has been a featured guest artist with Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion,
Jazz at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis, the Minnesota Orchestra conducted by Doc Severinsen, Philip Brunelle’s VocalEssence, the JazzMN Orchestra and has toured worldwide with appearances at concert halls and theaters across the U.S., Europe and Japan. Her 10 CD’s have all charted in the Top 50 Jazz releases in the U.S. and Canada, and her music is included on numerous CD compilations in the
U.S., China, France and Japan. She is a longtime member of the popular vocal jazz group Moore By Four and is a two-time recipient of the McKnight Fellowship for Performing Musicians and the Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant. Connie and pianist Jon Weber first met at the 2003 Twin Cities Jazz Festival at Peavey Plaza and have been working together ever since.
